Bracing For Round Two

The powerful storms that ravaged the Midwest on Wednesday claimed the lives of 12 people.

Another round is expected to hit a good portion of the country today. What can we do to help those left without a home or mourning the loss of a loved one?

Good Friday to you! Tracey Johnson here on this 2nd day of March.

March is American Red Cross month. When a disaster strikes, Americans depend on the Red Cross. In fact, families, friends and neighbors right near you depend on the Red Cross 24/7!

More than 200 times a day, families who have lost everything need the American Red Cross. Every 60 seconds, 250 people are helped by Red Cross volunteers.

Are you ready to volunteer? They need and depend on people like you.

Every year, the Red Cross responds to more than 70,000 disasters-including approximately 150 home fires every day.

There's something for everyone. You can volunteer in so many different ways..... from giving financially to donating blood to teaching classes.

There are many benefits that come when you volunteer......

A recent study from the University of Michigan found that people who volunteer for selfless reasons, such as helping others, live longer than those who don't lend a helping hand. The same study shows that those who volunteer for more self-centered reasons.... do not reap the same life-extending benefits.

The American Red Cross is asking you to offer a part of yourself...and know however you can help.... will allow them to continue to be there when the next person needs help.

Thanks for whatever time you can give!
Have a good day!
