Opening Day = A HOMERUN

Marzullo Here...

Of course a win would of made it a GRAND SLAM, but plenty of time to win baseball games, but who could complain about yesterdays weather and atmosphere. With plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the low 80's, Cincinnati saw huge crowds for the Findlay Market Opening Day Parade and those crowds stuck around downtown to cheer on our Cincinnati Reds. With this being my third opening day here in the city I am quickly becoming a fan and am realizing why this is such a tradition and that anything goes. It was great seeing the seas of people, I want to thank a few of our great viewers who e-mailed me a couple of pictures they snapped of us. See more pictures and our complete coverage of opening day by clicking here, maybe you will see yourself: http://www.fox19.com/Global/story.asp?S=12255506

We started our coverage here on FOX19 at 4:30 yesterday morning and through the FOX19 Morning News we had variety of guests stop by to chat with us LIVE from Great American Ball Park. One of the highlights for me was to interview George Grande, the semi-retired television play by play face of the Reds through out yesterdays first pitch. Grande, called games on television since 1993 before stepping down at the end of last season. I say semi-retires because Grande, told me he will return to call some games later this summer. What a great guy, broadcaster, and he knows his Reds stats! Watch The Interview Here: http://www.fox19.com/Global/story.asp?S=12255506
Our Pat Barry, spent some time chatting with Johnny Bench earlier in the morning, Johnny was the Grand Marshall of the Opening Day Parade, and you can here some great stories from Johnny right here: http://www.fox19.com/Global/story.asp?S=12255506

With a day off today, get ready for a new tradition for the Reds, Opening Night! The game is Wednesday night at 7:10pm against the St. Louis Cardinals and in addition to fireworks after the game, before the game the team has a great give away. The reds will be handing out there version of the Snuggie called the Reds-Fleecie, I had the opportunity to model one yesterday during our live reports from the park, please no comments!

Oh By The Way: Another Big Reds Game Is FOX19 Weather Day, May5th, bring the kids click here for more info: http://www.fox19.com/global/Category.asp?C=151146&clipId=&topVideoCatNo=15048&topVideoCatNoB=109491&topVideoCatNoC=104760&topVideoCatNoD=141804&topVideoCatNoE=142722&clipId=4673501&topVideoCatNo=106645&autoStart=true

Have A Great Season Reds!
